Whale watching Byron Bay

From AUD $119.00
  • Duration: 3 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Brunswick Heads, NSW
  • Product code: 102
Between May and November each year over 30,000 Humpback whales migrate between their Summer feeding grounds in Antarctica and the warm waters of the tropics and the Great Barrier Reef. Byron Bay is the perfect place to experience the whales as they swim close to shore along our stunning coastline.

Our on board marine biologist will be able to explain Humpback behaviour and tell you all about the lives of these incredible ocean giants.

"Wardjam" is a fast and stable Rigid inflatable boat with comfortable suspension  seating for 12 guests.

Used by military and police, our boat is perfect for getting to the whales quickly and safely for an intimate encounter with a small group. Our skipper is highly experienced having  filmed  whales around the world for documentary film and our guides have degrees in Marine science.

We usually encounter other marine species such as dolphins, turtles and migratory birds as well as the whales.

If no whales are sighted you are welcome to join the next tour free of charge, but with so many whales migrating this doesn`t really happen!

Tours depart from Brunswick Heads Boat harbour just 15 minutes North of Byron Bay.
